Press Release from Relativity Technologies

NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Relativity, the industry-leader in e-Discovery software, today announced that it is accepting applications for its 2019 Wired to Learn technology grant through close of business on February 4th.

Relativity

Established in 2013, Relativity's Wired to Learn program, part of the larger Relativity Gives community outreach program, provides technology to schools to help improve student's learning experiences and prepare them for success outside the classroom. The 2019 recipient of the Wired to Learn grant will receive grants totaling $250,000 over three years to be used in the investment in technology and teacher professional development to help drive student achievement. This new school will join six previous recipient public schools that have all attained higher student achievement, lower suspension rates, and higher attendance.

To be eligible for consideration for the Wired to Learn grant, interested schools must:

  • Be an Illinois public school in one of the following counties: Cook, Will, Lake, or DuPage
  • Have a low-income student population of 70 percent or higher
  • Have a less than 1:1 device-to-student ratio
  • Have school officials who are willing and able to receive district support to apply for the grant

In 2018, Relativity selected CISC Prairie and Great Lakes Academy as the recipients of the Wired to Learn grant. Pickard Elementary, one of the first beneficiaries of the technology grant, utilized their grant money to elevate their technology-forward curriculum and was recently chosen as one of five new International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in CPS . Since the foundation of Relativity Gives, Relativity has provided more than $2 million dollars to local schools through Wired to Learn grants and other learning initiatives.

"The Wired to Learn grant gives us to the opportunity to give back to the local community in a meaningful way while ensuring that students have access to the tools they need to be successful in college and the future careers of their choice," said Colleen Costello, Relativity's Community Engagement Lead. "We look forward to reviewing the next wave of ambitious Chicagoland schools looking to further their technology initiatives in the classroom."

After the Wired to Learn application window closes, Relativity will select finalists for on-site school visits starting February 29th. Relativity will select the winner of the Wired to Learn grant by May 31st. Interested parties can visit RelativityGives.com for more information on the grant, including an informational webinar and submission instructions.
