Another technique used to herd the birds is through the use of lasers. Research conducted by several organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (“USDA”) Wildlife Services’ (“WS”) National Wildlife Research Center (“NWRC”) indicates that lasers, e.g. relatively low-power, long-wavelength lasers provide an effective means of dispersing pest birds under low-light conditions, while presenting no threat to the animal or/and the environment. The use of lasers is an effective pest bird technique because of the intense and coherent light wave that when directly targeted at birds, can have substantial effects on the pest birds behavior. As such, this process may illicit changes in the pest birds physiological processes; thus, causing the pest birds to leave the target area.
